Labour Working Group

Australia’s union movement is testament to the fact that labour rights and corporate accountability have a long history together.  The ACAN Labour Working Group was established in 2011 to further deepen collaboration among a broad range of relevant civil society actors, and begin to consider ways to take innovative steps to progressing corporate accountability regarding labour issues, both within Australia and beyond.

Regulation & Transparency Working Group

The existing disparate regulation and transparency mechanisms of corporate accountability in Australia and beyond poses a difficult challenge for forming an overall picture of corporate accountability theory and practical tools. Since late 2010 the regulation and transparency group has begun to take on this challenge by harnessing its significant broad range of expertise in corporate accountability research and practice from inside and outside academia.

Mining Working Group

Australia is home to some of the largest and most recognised mineral extraction companies in the world, reflecting the country’s rich history of mineral extraction.  Since August 2010 ACAN’s Mining Working Group has operated as a discussion forum and information sharing body for Australia’s leading civil society groups working in the field of corporate accountability and mining.
